The streets
Westgate is built around three long avenues of Victorian family homes, most with deep back gardens. Linden Avenue and the roads off it are the quietest. The houses nearer the high street are smaller, and a few minutes closer to the station.
Schools
Two primary schools rated outstanding, Westgate Primary and St Anne's, are within a short walk of most streets. The nearest secondary school is a ten minute bus ride away.
Getting around
Trains reach Central in twelve minutes, every eight minutes at peak. The cycle path along the old railway line gets you into the city in twenty.
Weekends
The Saturday market on Mill Lane, two bakeries that sell out by ten, and Linden Park, whose lido opens from May to September.
